How To Increase Your Android Mobile Battery

How To Increase Your Android Mobile Battery
Posted by Obaid 4G Center on Thursday, October 29, 2015
1. See what's sucking the most juice. Navigate to Settings > Battery to see an organized breakdown of what's consuming your phone's battery. Applications and features will display in a descending list of battery hogs. If you see an application you barely use or a feature you never use, you'll want to uninstall the app or turn off the feature.

Android Battery Tips

2. Reduce email, Twitter, and Facebook polling. Set your various messaging apps to "manual" for the polling or refresh frequency, just as a test, and you'll instantly extend your device's battery life by a significant amount. Once you see what a difference that makes, try re-enabling just the most important ones, and possibly reducing their polling frequency in the process.

3. Turn unnecessary hardware radios off. It's great that today's phones have LTE, NFC, GPS, WI-Fi, and Bluetooth, but do you really need all five activated 24 hours per day? Android keeps location-based apps resident in the background, and the constant drain on your battery will become noticeable, fast. If your phone has a power control widget, you can use it to quickly turn on/off GPS (the largest power drain), NFC, WI-Fi, Bluetooth, and LTE. On stock Android, swipe down to bring up the Notification bar, and then tap the icon on the top right corner.

Android Battery Tips

4. Use the extra power saving mode if you have it. The aforementioned Galaxy S5 and HTC One (M8) both have Ultra Power Saving and Extreme Power Saving modes, respectively, that limits the phone to texting, phone calls, Web browsing, and Facebook. This can squeeze extra hours or even a day of standby time out of just a few remaining percentage points of battery.

5. Trim apps running in the background. From Settings > Apps, swipe to the left; you'll see a list of apps that are currently running. Tap on each one to see what they're for; you can stop any apps that you don't need running in the background all of the time.

Android Battery Tips

6. Dump unnecessary home screen widgets and live wallpaper. Just because they're sitting on the home screen, seemingly inactive, doesn't mean they're not consuming power. This goes for widgets that poll status updates in the background, as well as ones that just sit there but look pretty and animated—not to mention animated live wallpaper. (But don't dump everything, as part of what makes Android great are the home screen customizations; just remove the ones you don't use.)

7. Turn down the brightness and turn off Automatic Brightness. It's probably obvious at this point, but you'll be surprised by how much this one alone helps to improve battery life.

8. Update your apps. Applications often get updated to use less battery power, so you should make sure your apps are up to date. Even if you configured the phone for automatic updates, some apps still require that you manually install updates. Check for app updates in Google Play by hitting the menu key and going to My Apps.

9. Keep an eye on signal strength. If you're in an area with poor cellular coverage, the phone will work harder to latch onto a strong-enough signal. This has an adverse effect on battery life. There's not much you can do about this one, but keep in mind that this could be the culprit behind a seemingly weak battery; it's worth popping the phone into Airplane mode if you don't need data or voice calls.

10. Check the reviews. We conduct battery life tests on every single Android phone we review. Unsurprisingly, the results vary widely between handsets, even on the same network. When choosing a phone, make sure that real world talk time is sufficient. You can't go by what the manufacturer says; we see variances on the order of several hours of usage in both directions on a regular basis.

11. Buy a battery case or larger extended battery. Battery cases combine a hardware enclosure, which protects your phone, with an extended battery that can double your phone's endurance. You can find models compatible with popular Android phones from a variety of manufacturers, such as the Mophie Juice Pack and Incipio Offgrid Battery Backup Case (both for the Samsung Galaxy S4).

Top Android Games for Sure

Dragon Heroes: Shooter RPG

Essentially a vertical-scrolling shooter with RPG elements, Dragon Heroes: Shooter RPG lends some welcome depth to an inherently simplistic genre. By progressing through the levels, you can unlock a variety of heroes and upgrade their skills in a bid to save Dragon from a spate of Dragons, who are also the bosses on each level.

The shooting game play is simple, colorful and kinetic and there are seemingly endless buttons to press in the menus, lending it a nice arcade vibe. The only gripe is the absurd loading time the game requires, particularly when starting up. It's quickly forgotten once you're blasting merrily away at dragons, but it can be frustrating when you want to dive in for a quick game and you have to wait several minutes to get onto a level.

The game feature several different modes, PvP battles and Guilds, so there's plenty to get your teeth stuck into.

The Walking Dead: Road to Survival

The Walking Dead provides the basis for another Android game, as well as more evidence that franchises thrive as well as zombies on the post-apocalyptic earth. The Walking Dead: Road to Survival is probably the richest Walking Dead Android experience yet. It functions mostly as a base-building game, and Wood bury is the setting in which you construct the usual workshops, training grounds and farms to get humanity back up on its feet.

Outside the base there are missions and raids. The former finds you exploring the surroundings through story-led turn-based combat, and the latter lets you face off against opponents online, fighting for reputation and supplies. The story mode lets you make decisions at key moments, and will prove particularly enjoyable for fans of the comic books.

Overall, the game is pretty involving to start out with, and its dynamics function well, but its Pay-to-Win nature becomes apparent after a few hours of game play. There have been complaints about the random chance of characters and equipment you acquire and the cost of doing so. We would advise you to enjoy the game as far as possible for free, and try to avoid dropping any (or at least too much) money into it.

Marvel Future Fight

Marvel Future Fight is a very attractive and immediately engaging addition to the Marvel gaming universe. You start out with Black Widow, Captain America and Iron Man, who are sent on a quest to gather a band of heroes capable of saving the world from a future trans-dimensional threat.

There's a choice of control styles – 1-touch or Pad – and you scurry around brief levels, hammering away at surprised villains until you reach a boss. Once you've unlocked more characters, you can swap them in and our of your trio and switch between them at any time throughout a level.

When things heat up, and the levels start taking multiple attempts to pass, you may find your finger hovering over the in-app purchases, but there's enough here to keep you entertained for quite some time before you get to that point.

Best Android endless runner games
Speedy Ninja

Speedy Ninja’s name says it all: you play as an agile Ninja running speedily across the screen, battling through opponents with the aid of swords, fireballs and more.

What makes Speedy Ninja such a great endless runner is that the action takes place above and below a burning fuse that you run across, so you have to pay close attention to what is happening in both directions to make the best decisions and collect the most coins (the in-game currency of choice). When you have enough coins you can buy additional weapons and characters.

Speedy Ninja is not the most inventive endless runner, but it covers the basics well. It has flashy graphics with good effects, tight controls and challenging levels. Oh, and a dragon to ride.

Android user Avoid for Sure

1.  Avoid Installing too many similar apps

If you notice, a large number of users install too many apps which have a similar duty. For example, many people prefer to use more than single antivirus app to protect the device. They might think, using couple of antivirus apps will completely protect their device. But the fact is, a single antivirus app is enough to eliminate the malware, spyware, adware, Trojans & viruses and give complete protection to an Android device. Same is the case with battery managing apps and performance boosting apps like RAM cleaners.

The reason behind avoiding such practices are – Antivirus app, battery managing app, phone booster app etc, have to continuously run in the background to perform their functions, this results in eating up of RAM. So, when you use such apps in good numbers they increase RAM usage and decrease device performance. Especially in case of RAM cleaner apps which have to continuously run in the background to kill unused apps. And even if these apps are manually killed they restart within a couple of minutes. So, having too many similar apps is no use as they will just decrease battery and device performance.

2.  Avoid Rooting device

Rooting is the process of allowing users of smartphones, tablets and other devices running the Android operating system to attain privileged control over various Android’s subsystems. Root is just a user with elevated permissions, who can do anything to any file or folder in the system.  It will allow the user to access the entire operating system.

Why should not root your device –  Android gives so many options of customization that there is a no need to root your device. But if you want to root, you should know the risks of rooting an Android device. Most people root their device to flash a custom ROM but there is no guarantee that is custom ROM is stable for the device. If it’s not then you might face problems using the device.

Void warranty – You will lose your warranty claim ones you root your Android device. Manufacturers are not keen on honoring warranty claims for devices modified by their customers. That includes both hardware and software alterations, the latter of which includes root.

Security risks – Many apps do not work in rooted devices and are vulnerable to be attacked by a virus. For example, Google wallet will not work in rooted Android device.

Can cause update issues –  There are two main issues related to rooting Android and performing updates. First, if you apply the update a rooted it is most likely that root be removed and user will have to go through the risky process again. And two, you may stop receiving OTA updates or update may fail to install due to software modifications that occurred while the device has been rooted.
Brick your phone – Your phone won’t turn on in any way, shape or form, and there’s nothing you can do to fix it.

3.  Avoid deleting system files

Smartphone users generally use file managers to move, copy, share or delete any file. In the file manager you will find many files which are of no use and many a times when the device is running short of memory you may delete the files. But a system file which do not have any use if deleted may cause problem while upgrading the software. Android software do not upgrade if the system files are modified or deleted. So, it is better to avoid deleting system files.

4.  Avoid clearing app data

In setting under Application manager you will see the list of apps that are installed in your Android device. There you will see options of uninstall updates, Clear cache, Clear data etc, Suppose if you clear data of any app you will lose all the info and progress associated with the app. For example, if you are playing any game and you are at some level in that game and if you clear data of that game, all the progress, info and accounts associated with that app would be deleted. So, it’s better to avoid clearing app data unless and until the app is misbehaving or if you find some issues with the app.

 5.  Avoid Installing apps from unknown sources

Android protects users from inadvertent download and install of apps from locations other than Google Play. But many of us download and install APK files using browsers or any other media which are not trusted sources. The fact is, many APK files available on the web are not safe to be installed due to privacy and security issues.

Why not – Your device and personal data are more vulnerable to be attacked by applications from unknown       sources. May damage your device and loss of data.

Note: If you want to install apps from unknown sources then go for reliable sources to download the apps. Make sure you right tick on verify and install when asked and turn on your data each time you are installing apps from unknown sources. Google will scan and verify apps for vulnerability. If Google finds it unsafe, it will block the app from installing.

Conclusion: The factors which I mentioned above are not to dismay you they are just for giving you an idea of using the device in good way so that you do not face any problems.

Top 10 Android Application for Sure

The chances that you'll actually encounter malware for your Android are pretty slim—but it's a chance not worth taking. avast! Mobile Security & Antivirus comes packed not only with anti malware tools, but anti-theft tools, privacy tools, and more besides. It's also got an unbeatable price tag: free. If you're willing to spend a bit of cash, Bit defender is our Editors' Choice for paid Android security apps. You should also familiarize yourself with Android Device Manager, which is a good backup to the your security apps' anti-theft tools.

Everyone knows they should be using a complex, unique password for each and every website and application, but very few people do. That's because people are bad at passwords. Thankfully, computers are way better at them, so let Last Pass do the heavy lifting for you. Last Pass can generate new passwords and remember your existing ones. A recent update means that the app can even auto fill your passwords into apps, though its Copy Notifications feature is a great way to get your info from the app to the login screen.

Though the app and service are free, using it on a mobile device costs $12 a year, or $1 a month. Trust me, it's well worth the price of admission.

Google Reader was the best thing to happen to the Internet since sliced blogs, but it has passed on to the big Google graveyard in the sky. If reading news and blog posts on your Android is your jam, you need Feedly, an easy, pretty reader. It's a versatile platform, but what I like about it is that you can do all your reading in a single app. If you're looking for something a bit more stylish, try the magazine-style Flipboard.

Top 10 android mobiles 2015

10. Samsung Galaxy Alpha
A desirable and balanced phone, the Alpha signalled Samsung's new design
OS: Android 5 | Screen size: 4.7-inch | Resolution: 1280 x 720 | Memory: 2GB | Storage: 32GB | Battery: 1860mAh | Rear camera: 12MP | Front camera: 2.1MP
The Alpha borrows liberally from the Apple design playbook, but it still feels like a notable progression for the Samsung - and it still feels like a Samsung phone. Just a far more classy one.
A manageable 4.7-inch display, slim profile, blazing performance and an accomplished 12-megapixel camera means the Alpha has what it takes to deliver a quality Android experience.
Samsung has stepped up the design again with the Galaxy S6, but if you're looking for a more affordable option which still offers a decent slug of features the Alpha is well worth checking out.

9. Sony Xperia Z3 Compact
A small Android phone packed with big features
OS: Android 5 | Screen size: 4.6-inch | Resolution: 1280 x 720 | Memory: 2GB |Storage: 16GB | Battery: 2600mAh | Rear camera: 20.7MP | Front camera: 2.2MP
Sony has done such a good job of shrinking down the Xperia Z3 into a smaller handset with only a few minor cuts to the specifications that it has, perhaps by accident, created a more desirable phone.
It has the same 2.5GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor as the Z3, along with an Adreno 330 GPU and very good 20.7MP camera. The smaller 4.6-inch screen gives the Z3 Compact a better battery life than the full size Z3, as well as being more comfortable to hold. The price has also been cut, making the Z3 Compact a more compelling purchase.
Easily one of the best compact Android phones on the market today. Sony has worked hard to fit some excellent features into this handset despite its smaller stature and it has paid off. This is great work from Sony, and doubly brilliant if you own a PS4 too thanks to the Remote Play feature. But at this point you might be better off waiting for the Sony Xperia Z5 Compact
