Android user Avoid for Sure

1.  Avoid Installing too many similar apps

If you notice, a large number of users install too many apps which have a similar duty. For example, many people prefer to use more than single antivirus app to protect the device. They might think, using couple of antivirus apps will completely protect their device. But the fact is, a single antivirus app is enough to eliminate the malware, spyware, adware, Trojans & viruses and give complete protection to an Android device. Same is the case with battery managing apps and performance boosting apps like RAM cleaners.

The reason behind avoiding such practices are – Antivirus app, battery managing app, phone booster app etc, have to continuously run in the background to perform their functions, this results in eating up of RAM. So, when you use such apps in good numbers they increase RAM usage and decrease device performance. Especially in case of RAM cleaner apps which have to continuously run in the background to kill unused apps. And even if these apps are manually killed they restart within a couple of minutes. So, having too many similar apps is no use as they will just decrease battery and device performance.

2.  Avoid Rooting device

Rooting is the process of allowing users of smartphones, tablets and other devices running the Android operating system to attain privileged control over various Android’s subsystems. Root is just a user with elevated permissions, who can do anything to any file or folder in the system.  It will allow the user to access the entire operating system.

Why should not root your device –  Android gives so many options of customization that there is a no need to root your device. But if you want to root, you should know the risks of rooting an Android device. Most people root their device to flash a custom ROM but there is no guarantee that is custom ROM is stable for the device. If it’s not then you might face problems using the device.

Void warranty – You will lose your warranty claim ones you root your Android device. Manufacturers are not keen on honoring warranty claims for devices modified by their customers. That includes both hardware and software alterations, the latter of which includes root.

Security risks – Many apps do not work in rooted devices and are vulnerable to be attacked by a virus. For example, Google wallet will not work in rooted Android device.

Can cause update issues –  There are two main issues related to rooting Android and performing updates. First, if you apply the update a rooted it is most likely that root be removed and user will have to go through the risky process again. And two, you may stop receiving OTA updates or update may fail to install due to software modifications that occurred while the device has been rooted.
Brick your phone – Your phone won’t turn on in any way, shape or form, and there’s nothing you can do to fix it.

3.  Avoid deleting system files

Smartphone users generally use file managers to move, copy, share or delete any file. In the file manager you will find many files which are of no use and many a times when the device is running short of memory you may delete the files. But a system file which do not have any use if deleted may cause problem while upgrading the software. Android software do not upgrade if the system files are modified or deleted. So, it is better to avoid deleting system files.

4.  Avoid clearing app data

In setting under Application manager you will see the list of apps that are installed in your Android device. There you will see options of uninstall updates, Clear cache, Clear data etc, Suppose if you clear data of any app you will lose all the info and progress associated with the app. For example, if you are playing any game and you are at some level in that game and if you clear data of that game, all the progress, info and accounts associated with that app would be deleted. So, it’s better to avoid clearing app data unless and until the app is misbehaving or if you find some issues with the app.

 5.  Avoid Installing apps from unknown sources

Android protects users from inadvertent download and install of apps from locations other than Google Play. But many of us download and install APK files using browsers or any other media which are not trusted sources. The fact is, many APK files available on the web are not safe to be installed due to privacy and security issues.

Why not – Your device and personal data are more vulnerable to be attacked by applications from unknown       sources. May damage your device and loss of data.

Note: If you want to install apps from unknown sources then go for reliable sources to download the apps. Make sure you right tick on verify and install when asked and turn on your data each time you are installing apps from unknown sources. Google will scan and verify apps for vulnerability. If Google finds it unsafe, it will block the app from installing.

Conclusion: The factors which I mentioned above are not to dismay you they are just for giving you an idea of using the device in good way so that you do not face any problems.
